They still do the late-night boxing thing every couple of weeks, don't they? Do you guys have a "let's get ready to rumble!" guy? Do you think the place will really be shut down? Seems like there were reports like this a time or two before. Hope all is well. I am a veteran of the Iraq war- I was there in 2003. We ran missions to BIAP all the time. Our home base was just outside of Talil Air Force Base, near Najaf if I remember correctly. Anyway, I'm going to keep up with you, my fellow soldier. And the little, teeny, tiny door at the end of the hallway is downright poetic, if not simply ironic. That it be so small in scale compared to.. HBO, eh? Not sure I'm ready for prime time, or late night for that matter. Or anything other than tblog while I'm at it! We do, in fact, have an announcer. He's terribly weak in his volume levels, but he's got the charisma and attitude of a fight announcer. Perhaps a microphone. And a speaker to go along with that microphone, of course. Do I think the place will be shut down? Perhaps a bit of rhetoric is called for.. Do you own one of those cool little black magic eight-balls? That's about as good as my opinion would do on the matter, but if it's on the Classified News Network (CNN), then it has to be true right? :P Sorry for the previous post. It isn't frequent that I get all heated up. And it's even less frequent that things resolve themselves as fast as they did. The Big Brother thing is still a very real concern though. Especially small given the tiny percentage of us that find ourselves in the service of king and country. I was at Balad Air Base last year (LSA Anaconda), and I have to tell you, I miss being stationed there. Like I said earlier, if I have to be stuck on a base all year, I'd rather it be a nice one. I try desperately to get outside more often, but that's been few and far between.
